Driver suffers facial injuries in road rage attack
A ROAD rage victim had a front tooth knocked out and needed 16 stitches for facial injuries after being attacked on Torbay Ring Road at Gallow's Gate.
Dan Morris, 22, was being tailgated by two men in a silver Alpha Romeo on Riviera Way when he was forced off the road.
The casualty, who lives in the Bay area, revealed how he honked his horn and slowed down to let them pass when they pounced.
"They got out of the car and the driver started to punch me in the face outside my vehicle. He stopped and then started again," said Dan.
He added: "For some reason they were annoyed with me — but I had done nothing wrong. They just wanted to pick a fight. They did it for kicks. They were looking for a reason to knock the stuffing out of someone."
Dan said: "The passenger just stood there watching me being hit. The driver asked me what my problem was — and then started punching me. I still feel bad. I can hardly speak.
"This sort of thing makes you sick. It should not happen to anyone. I have three areas of stitching to my mouth and an area where my front tooth was knocked out. I will have to have an implant at the dentist."
Police have confirmed they are looking for two men in connection with the incident which happened at 8.30pm on Friday.
A spokesman said the main offender was described as about 6ft to 6ft 3ins tall, of muscular build with short cropped hair. He had blue eyes and was clean shaven. He was wearing trainers, jeans and a dark brown or black fleece top.
Anyone with information should ring police on 08452 777444, quoting crime FP/10/738.

“Jimmy the man would never start a fight and was a meek as a lamb, so why did he sound his hooter...why did he go slow.
I am meek and mild but put me in a car and I am God of the road and act like it...there is road rage in everyone. I do not normally swear but in a car I am a swearing trooper and the problem is I have to shout at people.
As for grey Alfas there are loads, it is the favourite colour for one, and that should really be red. Is it a coupe, a sports car, a saloon car, a sports wagon...or is it just a grey car, if the make was known why was the registration not known??
Hope the guy gets better.”

“I agree with the masses on here. Smells like bull*hit to me. Let me guess, he was driving at the speed limit, minding his own business, the nicest person you could ever meet, never driven over the limit in his life..rubbish!!
i have no doubt he will have raced the alpha or cut him up. there is definitely more to this then this rag has printed. typically this rag never runs updates on stories to the real facts.”

“Car drivers are not attacked for no reason, there's always a reason.
It could be anything such as the wrong look, offensive maneuver there's anger all over the place now often caused by young men trying to impress others or themselves”

“More to this than meets the eye?!
I am Daniels brother. I was at the hospital with him and can assure you as to the extent of his injuries. He is a quiet lad and hasnt started a fight in his life. I am not sure what saddens me more. The effect this has had on him, the fact someone is capable of such an act or the suggestion made here there is somehow more to this story, largely based on stereotyping of his age and sex. Disgracefull and the "live by the sword..." comment, where do you even begin?!
The car is a silver Alfa Romeo . Not too many of them in the bay. I am pleading with anyone reading this story who thinks they might know anything to come forward. You can do so anonymously if you'd prefer via crime stoppers 0800 555 111. Daniel was lucky he did not sustain further injuries or a weapon came into play as is all to common these days. These Thugs on wheels need to answer for what they've done AND before anyone else has to go through what my brother has.”

“Hardly suprising that someone suffers from road rage, anyone would after spending 30 minutes plodding along newton road at 5 mph.
Hope he makes a full recovery and the culprits are found and punished accordingly.”
