Paul Sheward, stop smoking service lead at Torbay and Southern Devon Health and Care NHS Trust said: "Stoptober is the first ever mass quit attempt of its kind and for those people who have been thinking about quitting for a while it is the perfect opportunity to kick the habit for good.
"Giving up smoking is never easy and that is why we have put on some extra support clinics for local people. The clinics are an opportunity to get further information, advice and support about any aspect of giving up smoking.
