IT'S ABOUT time! Why no one else has sought to use him is a complete and wasteful mystery, but Falmouth Town have woken up to the expertise so close at hand.

Falmouth have enlisted the coaching skills of former Scotland World Cup captain and ex-Torquay United boss Bruce Rioch.

Rioch, a still very fit 61, enjoyed an outstanding playing (Luton, Aston Villa, Derby, Everton, Seattle, Torquay) and managerial (Torquay, Middlesbrough, Arsenal, Millwall, Bolton, Norwich, Odense, Aalborg) career, but he now lives in Cornwall.

With Rioch on board, Falmouth are now unbeaten in nine games and are chasing Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Premier leaders Buckland Athletic.

Surprise, surprise.
