Familiar faces at tenth Parrotfest
THIS Sunday's Parrotfest at the Apple and Parrot on Torquay harbourside boasts its best line-up yet, celebrating the tenth Parrotfest with a capital X.
Twelve bands will perform during the day and evening, beginning with Retro Beats from the ParrotFest DJs from 11am.
Throughout the event, live music lovers will spot familiar faces alongside some bright new names.
As well as Parrotfest veterans such as the Stone Angels, Mitch and Mace and the Dantes, they'll be welcoming acoustic folk/soul singer Owen Penrice, Longshore Drift and Blackwater.

Also making a ParrotFest debut are Torquay regulars Moondog and the Moonfolk, alongside regulars Amy and Mitch (The Marilyns Unplugged), alias Amy Stanford and Mitchell Short who play sounds from the 90s onwards with witty banter thrown in.
Newbies also include Chris Davis who has been going down a storm in the Apple and Parrot in Taunton.
The last word on the night goes to Reverend Jarratt, whom Parrotfest fans might know better as Mat Jarratt, Lifestyle Events manager, turning his hand to the DJ decks.
"It's hard to believe that this is the tenth Parrotfest," said Mat.
"But in all that time, we've stayed true to our roots in that we set out to provide a platform for good local live music. We have heard some incredible music, helped launch some amazing bands and albums and had some great times along the way."
Planning ahead for the first Parrotfest of 2013, Mat would like to hear from new bands and acoustic duos.
He added: "If they have the talent, we have the stage. We know there are some amazing up and coming bands who need that first break. So we say to them, pick up the phone or come and see us."
