Fancy dress cricket match held in aid of Sport Relief
A FANCY dress cricket match in aid of Sport Relief is due to be held in Torquay on Sunday.
The Cavendish Cavaliers, a social cricket club based at the Cavendish Hotel, Belgrave Road, Torquay, are planning to gather friends and supporters to stage an 'Ashes' match at Babbacombe Cricket Club on Walls Hill.
Match organiser Rich Blagden said: "As time-honoured tradition dictates, England and Australia, nationality donned along with fancy-dress, will battle it out for glory, the entertainment of the spectators and some sponsorship money for a very good cause.
"It promises to be a fun match. It doesn't matter if you don't know your fine leg from your four byes, come along and give some noisy support.
"The tea, if not the cricket, will be spectacular."
The match is due to start at 2pm.
