Two crews from the town attended the two-storey property in Firlands Road, Barton, just after 7pm.

Upon arrival, crews found the fire had already gone out. They isolated the electricity supply and used small tools to make the cooker and area safe.

The fire caused minor damage to the surrounding area but the fire service confirmed nobody was involved or injured.
