'FIT as a fish' swimmers have pledged to double the distance they can swim for loveLIFE.

The members of the Fit as a Fish over-50s' session at Swim Torquay, Plainmoor will tot up their efforts to lend support to our year-long campaign to keep fit.

Peter Tysoe, spokesman for Swim Torquay, said its doors are open for health-conscious readers.

He said: "We are pleased to support the loveLIFE campaign and welcomes those wishing to improve their fitness level.

"We run friendly programmes for all ages and level of ability — from babies of three months to the over-50s — and our WaterMobility sessions are run by qualified instructors for those with physical disabilities."

More than 20 local schools use the pool, and the Oddicombe and Torquay Leander swimming clubs are based at Swim Torquay.

The pool is a vital part of the Torquay community. Its facilities have recently been improved with the help of Torbay Council.
