Flood warning issued for River Dart, affecting Staverton, Buckfastleigh and Totnes area

The Environment Agency have issued a flood warning for the River Dart including Staverton, and riverside locations and roads between Buckfastleigh and Totnes.

A flood warning is released if Flooding is expected and immediate action is required.

"Rainfall across Devon catchments is forecast throughout this evening and

into the night, clearing by day break. Catchments are all very wet and

rivers are expected to react to this rainfall. Some of the rainfall

might be heavy at times, which could lead to ponding of water on roads

and low lying land.

Flooding is possible within the next few hours," the Environment Agency said.

The agency advises people to call Floodline on 0845 988 1188, select option 1 and enter Quickdial number 162170 to get more information.
