Fly tippers dump rubbish at council
FIRST it was vandals. Now it's fly tippers.
Totnes Town Council has had to clean up the front door of its Guildhall headquarters after it became a victim in the latest spate of spray paint graffiti attacks around the town.

A week later it became the victim of fly tippers after someone dumped a dozen sacks of rubbish outside the Guildhall complex in Ramparts Walk.
An irate resident then cleaned up by dumping all the sacks in the back of the town council pick-up parked nearby — along with someone's wheeled bin which had been left out as well.
The town council had to call out South Hams Council's refuse collection team to pick up the rubbish and take it to the tip.
Town clerk David Edwards said the sacks had been filled with material left over after someone had been redecorating and included used paint tins and old wall paper.
They had been dumped outside the garage in Ramparts Walk before someone shifted them into the truck.
"We are pretty annoyed really," he said. "It's frustrating because everyone else is trying to recycle, keep costs down and keep the town tidy and there are people who just flout the law which reflects on the appearance of the town as well as being an added cost to the taxpayers."
He said that if a trader was involved they should have paid to dispose of the materials properly while a resident could simply have taken the rubbish to the tip.
"It's a case of someone either being greedy or lazy," he said.
