A PAIGNTON community association has been given £1,000 from the Devonshire Freemasons.

Hookhills and Broadsands Park Community Association was given the donation towards the provision of activities for the community.

Tony Smith, from the association, said: "We are delighted to receive this generous donation, the money will help us to develop our youth sections and will be put to good use to buy much needed equipment and resources, in order to enrich our youth with new skills and activities."

He thanked George Rogers and the St John's Lodge, Torquay, who nominated the charity.
