FINGLE Glen are through to the third round of the ladies' Mail on Sunday competition after their 3½-1½ defeat of Teign Valley.

Fine wins from Anne Woodger (2 up), Ann Hazelwood (5&3) and Michelle Underwood (4&2), and a drawn game from Jane Lee, helped the Glen progress.

Meanwhile, Roger Anniss won Division One of the seniors' March stableford with 42 points ahead of Brian Ridgeway, Ron Bellamy and Terry Wood with 40 points each.

Division Two was won by David Flint with 42 points from Tony Dodd, Allan Vincent and Dave Cardy, with 36 points each.

The well-supported midweek club competition saw Andy Rogers win Division One with 41 excellent points, followed by Terry Webster (40) and Paul Collings (38).

In Division Two, Ken Greedy beat Brian Donald on countback after each had returned 41 points, with Steve Ebdon completing the line-up with 37 points.

The top score of the day came in Division Three where Terry Thorne carded a massive 44 points, while a more modest 38 from Roy Cox and 36 from Geoff Baker also earned them prize vouchers.

The Glen's weekend competition was also in stableford format. Luke Burchell won Division One on countback from Keith Lovelock after each had returned 41 points, Colin Harrison filling third spot just one point behind.

A 41-point total also secured Division Two for Bob Dyment, with Mark Spry-Phare (40) & Adrian Blake (39) also in the prize list.

The performance of the day, however, was the 47 points from Peter Denning in Division Three followed by Phil Barrett (39) and Simon Cordery (38).

The week concluded with a mixed betterball competition which saw the pair of Sam Brooks and Andy Rogers come out on top with an excellent 44 points.

Michelle Underwood and Oliver Cowl were just pipped into second with a fine 43 points.

Donna Pearce and Paul Stevens, and Adrian and Kate Blake, both scored 38 to finish amongst the prizes in third and fourth respectively.
