Great reward for a busy year
TORQUAY centenary captain Mike Boxall presented a cheque for £2,500 to Wooden Spoon honorary life president Peter Scott MBE (pictured right). The Petitor club raised the money during Mike's Captain's Day, plus the proceeds from a left-handers versus right-handers challenge match where the lefties were soundly thrashed!
A further £4,000 was also raised from a special Wooden Spoon Golf Day held at Torquay earlier in the year, and the presentation took place at a school for the disadvantaged in Exeter where the charity had previously given a £50,000 donation to build a physiotherapy unit.

Mike chose this charity in memory of his fellow rugby and golf-playing friend Malcolm Baker, who passed away two years ago and was instrumental in the great success of the Wooden Spoon charity, which harnesses the spirit and values of rugby to give disadvantaged children and young people in the UK and Ireland a chance to achieve their full potential in life.
