Torquay United back to work with City reserve date
TORQUAY United are looking to their reserves to supply a lift tonight after the first team's 100 per cent start to the season ended at the weekend.
The Gulls take on Exeter City at St. James' Park (7pm) in the Totesport.com Combination in the wake of Saturday's 2-1 League Two defeat at Southend.
"We still feel that we gave the game away at Southend," said first team coach Shaun North.
"But we did finish the game better than we started it, as opposed to the other way round.
"Tonight is an opportunity for the reserves, so it's up to them.
"We've given the lads an extra day off, because we've just had a heavy week of travelling, and sometimes you can just train for the sake of training.
"If the reserve game hadn't been tonight, we might have done things differently.
"But everyone will be in tomorrow and train through to Friday for the game against Accrington (at Plainmoor) on Saturday."
North (pictured, left) reported that none of the starting XI at Southend will play against the Grecians, and neither will centre-forward Martin Gritton, who went on as a substitute at half-time.
Everyone else is likely to be involved.
United won their opening Combination game 3-0 against Swansea three weeks ago.
United will pick tonight's reserve team from Danny Potter; Lathaniel Rowe-Turner, Kieran Charnock, Ed Palmer, Eunan O'Kane, Lloyd Macklin, Billy Kee, Damon Lathrope, Saul Halpin, Ashley Yeoman plus selected trainees.
