STILL Torquay United's record signing, at £75,000 from Peterborough in December 2004, lanky striker Leon Constantine (right) has become a happy wanderer around the lower divisions of the Football League.

Few managers have really been able to decide where his best position is.

After spells with Millwall and Brentford, he suddenly scored 25 goals for Southend in 2003-2004 — most of them from the wing.

After a promising initial loan spell, United signed him from Peterborough.

Frustrated by his inconsistency, United sold him to Port Vale for £20,000 a year later, and a successful two years in the Potteries persuaded Leeds to take a punt on him.

An injury-hit year at Elland Road was followed by a season with Northampton, and Constantine, now 31, moved to Hereford last summer.
