Handing over cash to good causes
A BRIXHAM pub is to hold a special charity night to hand over almost £700 to good causes.
Chris Simmonds, landlord of the Queen's Arm in Station Hill, will welcome representatives from Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Golden Vanity Trust to hand over money raised by his daughters Emma and Sophie earlier this year.
He said: "I've invited Bob Curtis to receive the money on behalf of Great Ormond Street.
"My daughters and their friend organised a charity day for the hospital in March and raised £567.

"I organised a pig race day earlier this year and we raised £127 for charity."
The cash giving day will take place on September 19 but 10 days later, Chris will organise a 'battle of the beers' for ale lovers to try out some of the region's best award-winning brews.
St Austell's Smugglers Ale, which won gold overall in the recent Newton Abbot beer festival, will be up for tasting along Golden Sands from Teignworthy which also won gold in its class and Hunters' Blackjack which won silver at the Peterborough beer festival.
The ale-tasting session will take place at the pub on September 29.
