THE police helicopter found a missing man in his car at a Haytor car park.

Police said there was 'immediate concern' for the man's welfare on Sunday.

The force helicopter was deployed to join the search for the man and his car. Police described him as 'high risk'.

Based on information available, the helicopter crew searched from Newton Abbot towards Bovey Tracey before redirecting their search based on new information to the Haytor area of Dartmoor (pictured).

The crew quickly located the vehicle and, using on-board equipment, was able to confirm the man was in the vehicle.

The helicopter crew directed police on the ground to the vehicle. They then looked after the man's welfare.
