Honoured in London
TORBAY'S TYGA martial arts were honoured several times over at the 2011 UK Black Belt Hall of Fame gala dinner at the five-star Royal Garden Hotel in London.
The day started with seminars and technical demonstrations from a number of experts, including an instructor from the Portuguese Special Forces.

The seminars also included a unique course designed to show how to people in wheel chairs can defend themselves against attack.
The black ties came out in the evening for a the dinner and awards.
TYGA trio Jon Lees, Richard Pyle and Dan Ling (above) were named among the fighters of the year.
All three were chosen from a Europe-wide trawl after a fantastic year which saw them bring home silver medals for team fighting at the World Open Championships in November and others at different tournaments, including two golds for Lees a recent national punch and kick tournament.
The icing on the cake was being named club of the year for the second year running, which has not happened before.
Perhaps not surprisingly, all three have been inducted into the hall of fame.
Said Lees: "The three of us were extremely pleased that we have stood out enough to be honoured in such a way at the premiere event for Martial artists in Europe
"To top it off walking away a second year with club of the year is amazing, it really shows that Torbay is well on the map for martial arts in the country."
