Fire crews were called to the village of Ermington, near Ivybridge, this afternoon to reports of a car fire.

On arrival at the scene at around 2.15pm they discovered a car well alight on a driveway close to a property.

The blaze was caused by hot ashes setting fire to a dustbin which then spread to the vehicle.

Firefighters extinguished the car using a hose reel jet.
