'THE HOTEL', the off-the-wall reality Channel 4 series based at Torquay's Grosvenor Hotel, has proved a big hit with TV audiences.

And on Saturday Mark Williams and his staff will be guests of Torquay United at their Plainmoor game against promotion rivals Shrewsbury Town.

"The programme is great viewing, and it's brought good publicity to the bay," said United's commercial manager Dean Edwards.

"They and ourselves are trying to put Torquay on the map, and they've got some great characters in the show.

"One of them, Alison (Pennell), is a big Gulls fan anyway, and has been for years.

"We've got ten of their staff coming up for the day, and we hope they have a great time."
