Investigation launched after overnight car fires in Totnes

An investigation is underway after two cars caught alight in Totnes in the early hours of this morning.

Two fire crews from the town were called to Malt Mill at around 2.20am following reports of two vehicles on fire on a garage forecourt.

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze.

Fire chiefs confirmed both vehicles were severely damaged by fire.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “The cause of the fire is under investigation by the fire service and police.”
