JACKSON COOPER LIVE AND LOCAL- Falling Trees -The Memories that hold us together (Review)
This debut album from Exeter based band Falling Trees is socked in an authentic late 80's / early 90's indie flavour soundscape . Back in the day when Indie was indie. This is not to say its a one trick -rip off pony. Far from it. Thought out to its core. Every track is a winner with an enduring and endearing guitar vintage formula bursting with pop hooks that takes the listener to both highs and lows of the listening pleasure spectrum .
Stand out tracks include Trick of the light & the name check fantastic of Youth Club Disco . How many can you spot? It's an album that flows with laid back emotion . Don't let people tell you it's just for a taste of nostalgia . That's what people say when they haven't really listened . It's a work that unfolds on repeat listening .Yes It borrows from a certain era but it has plenty of different textures and use of sounds to set it apart from being a mere pastiche .Great writing is just that . Great writing .Enjoy !
