SOUTH Devon's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty organisation is staging its Annual Open Forum on Wednesday September 26 at Stoke Fleming Village Hall from 6.30pm.

Keynote speaker at the event is Dr Dylan Bright, Director of the Westcountry Rivers Trust.

The Trust is delighted to have won funding for over £2.2 million of restoration work over the next three years on river catchments across the South West.

Five Estuaries the Avon, Dart, Erme, Salcombe-Kingsbridge, and Yealm are a defining feature of the AONB.

This event looks at the whole river catchments for wildlife, clean water, the landscape and the rich stories they tell.

The event will also feature a screening of the new short film Dart inspired by Alice Oswald’s renowned poem of the river.

Manager of the South Devon AONB Unit Robin Toogood will talk about current projects and plans for the coming year, which will be followed by an opportunity to make comments and ask questions.

The event will incorporate elections to the AONB Partnership Committee, further information and nomination forms can be found online.

AONB Unit Manager Robin Toogood commented: "We hope to see many local people at this event.

"We are delighted that Dylan Bright is our guest speaker and there will be an opportunity to find out more about our work and to view displays connected to the theme. This event is free and open to all.”
