RIVIERA Sound, one of the West Country's leading ladies' four-part harmony choruses, are inviting local ladies to blow away the New Year cobwebs.

The chorus, women of all ages who love to sing, are hosting a free taster day on Saturday at Watcombe Primary School, Torquay.

There will be two sessions, from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm, aimed at ladies aged 16 and over.

No previous singing experience is necessary, they say, just a love of music.

Musical director Chris Bullen said: "We held an extremely popular Military Wives' Recruitment Day last January where we were honoured to receive an endorsement from Gareth Malone.

"We have ladies of all ages singing with Riviera Sound, working in a diverse range of jobs.

"We meet every Thursday from 7pm to 10pm at Watcombe Primary School. It is a great way to let off steam, have fun and to meet new people."

Riviera Sound have just recorded their first CD which will be available shortly and are the proud winners of the recent Plymouth Music Festival 2012, the Exeter Music Festival in 2010 and 2011 and Torbay Festival Ladies Barbershop Competition in 2009.
