Longer hours approved

PAIGNTON Community and Sports College will be able to open its facilities to the community for longer hours after the move was approved by council planners.

The college wanted to extend its opening hours by half-an-hour every day until 9.30pm.

The Totnes Road school in Paignton also applied for a retrospective application for disabled access and a disabled lift down to its sports hub.

Members of the planning committee said there was no reason not to grant the two application especially about opening up later as the college's facilities were already well used by the community.

Cllr Mike Morey said: "If 30 minutes more make the college even more viable we should approve it."

The application was granted unanimously.
