Leaders drop first frame of season but stay unbeaten
LEADERS St Anne's A stretched their advantage at the top of the Premier Division to six points despite dropping their first point of the season.
Adrian Tocknell scored a break of 45, Jason Whittaker made one of 46 and John Halliwell scored breaks of 37 and 42 as the leaders beat seventh-placed Dawlish Cons A 5-1.
Paignton Cons kept their 100 per cent record in second spot as they beat Preston Cue F 4-2, for whom Chris Hobson scored a break of 37 in the third frame.
Andy Neck potted a break of 73 in the third, but could not stop Riley's A (3rd) falling further behind the leaders as they drew 3-3 with 10th-placed Upton Social A.
Preston Cue A moved up two places to fourth as they beat Brixham Sea Anglers A 5-1. The Anglers drop a place to fifth after losing their 100 per cent record.
Newton Cons A slipped a place to sixth as they had their free week. Brixham Cons A moved out of the relegation places as they recorded their first league win of the season. They came from 2-0 down to beat bottom side Torquay Squash A 4-2.
PRESTON Cons B maintained their position at the top of Division One - and extended their lead to two points - as they beat close rivals Palace Place A 4-2.
Central Cons C took advantage to close in on the leaders and move up a place to second as they beat Palace Place B 5-1, who slipped three places to seventh.
Paignton Cons A returned to form as they moved up three places to fourth by beating bottom side Preston Cue E 5-1.
Clive Thomas scored a break of 37 in the third frame - and won the last as well - as fifth-placed Torquay Squash C drew 3-3 with Torquay Deaf A, for whom Martin Brown scored a break of 29 in the opening frame.
John Morris scored a 25 clearance in the final frame for St Anne's B as they beat 11th-placed Teignmouth RBL A 4-2.
Cliff Ritson scored breaks of 22 and 31 as tenth-placed Riley's E won the last frame to draw 3-3 with ninth-placed POTC A.
TORQUAY Squash D kept their position at the top in Division Two, but their advantage was cut to a single point despite coming back from losing the first frame to beat bottom side St Marychurch Cons B 5-1.
Elliot Ambrose scored a break of 36, and John Tsigarides made one of 20 as Preston Cue G moved up a place to second as they continued their winning run by hammering Teignmouth RBL B 6-0, who slipped a place to ninth after the defeat.
Ray Little scored a 27 clearance in the second frame, but his St Marychurch Cons C side slipped a place to third as they had to come from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 with seventh placed Upton Social B.
Brixham RBL A stayed in fourth spot despite beating tenth placed Preston Cue C 5-1.
Roundham B moved up a place to fifth despite losing to Preston Cue H, who moved up three places to sixth after coming from 2-1 down to win 4-2.
Kirkham Street A went down three places to eighth as they had a free week.
PLAYERS are reminded that the league's annual meeting is being held at Central Conservative Club, Torquay on Monday, July 13 (7.45pm).
There are some proposals already ranging from open cards, competitions being played over five frames in the early rounds, an increase to points being deducted for frames not played and the Premier League reverting back to original handicaps.
Anyone wishing to make further proposals will need to put them in writing. They should be received no later than Monday, July 6 .

PRESENTATION Night for the winter season will be held on June 27 at Paignton Conservative Club with the Joe Davis Cup final between Brian Milden and Ray Little played on the night.
There will also be a buffet and entertainment.
Players that have won trophies will be expected to attend to pick up their trophies, anyone not able to attend should contact the fixture secretary to make arrangements for collecting their trophy. No trophies will be handed out without prior arrangement.
