A man was pulled from Brixham harbour yesterday lunchtime after falling from his tender.

Brixham Coastguards, who were alerted to the incident shortly before 12.30pm, called out the Torbay inshore lifeboat and the Berry Head cliff rescue team.

A coastguard spokesman said the man had become "caught up" on ropes as he made his way in his tender to his boat and fallen in the water.

The spokesman said the nearest available boat had been the lifeboat. He said the man was rescued "cold and wet and a little embarrassed" but otherwise unharmed.
