With the cold weather continuing, the Met Office said some areas would see snowfall although it is not expected to accumulate or cause any disruption.

While the southern half of the region could see snow and be overcast, brighter skies are forecast for northern parts of the two counties.

A spokesman for the Met Office said it would feel "very bitter and dry with cold easterly winds" with maximum temperatures of 4C. Similar conditions are expected throughout the weekend.
