Man admits possessing extreme pornography
A KINGSKERSWELL man who admitted possession of extreme and child pornography has been committed to Exeter Crown Court for sentence by South Devon magistrates.
Peter McArthur (right), 53, of Lyn Grove, pleaded guilty to possession of two extreme pornographic images — one of mutilation, the other of bestiality — and six indecent images of children in September last year at his Kingskerswell home.

Magistrates decided the offences were so serious sentencing should be carried out at crown court and McArthur was remanded on conditional bail to appear at Exeter at June 7.
Prosecutor Karen Ball said police searched McArthur's home in September last year under a Children Act warrant, and found the images on computers.
In interview McArthur told police he looked at the Internet in 2009 for adult pornography and came across images of children which he continued to view out of curiosity.
He told police he would view them and then delete them to protect his children.
McArthur, who was not represented, said he had nothing to say to the court.
The conditions of his bail are to live at his home address, not to have unsupervised contact with children aged under 17 years, not to download images of children, and to allow police to have access to his computers.
