TONIGHT'S Play-Off Semi-Final Second Leg against Cheltenham Town marks skipper Lee Mansell's 300th appearance for Torquay United, and it 'nearly' coincides with personal milestones for two more Gulls players.

Midfielder Mansell becomes only the 14th player in United's history to reach the 300-mark.

But Kevin Nicholson and Danny Stevens are only a game away from landmarks of their own.

If winger Stevens hadn't been laid low by sickness for Sunday's First Leg at Whaddon Road, tonight would have been his 200th appearance. If he plays this time, it will be his 199th Gulls game.

Left-back Nicholson has an extra incentive for United to complete a dramatic fightback against Cheltenham.

The Play-Off Final at Wembley would be his 250th match for United.

Of course, Mansell's and Nicholson's career tallies don't stop with their time at Plainmoor.

Nicholson wracked up another 257 games for Sheffield Wednesday, Northampton (loan), Notts County, Scarborough and Forest Green Rovers before he signed for United in the summer of 2007.

That gives 'Nico' a running total of 505 appearances.

Mansell played another 113 times for his first two clubs, Luton Town and Oxford United, before arriving at Plainmoor in 2006.

That gives him a total tally of 412 games.

"It's brilliant to reach 300 games here – I didn't realise it was that many – and what a match to do it in," said Mansell.
