Meadfoot cliff repair works due to begin this month
TORBAY Council is to begin work to stabilise the cliff face above the parking layby on Meadfoot Sea Road, Torquay.
The work is due to start on Monday March 18.

The work will be carried out by local firm Celtic Rock Services and is expected to take approximately three weeks.
Throughout the work a fence will be erected in front of the cliff to help prevent any loose rock falling onto the road.

Traffic will also be restricted to the seaward side lane with the use of Give Way signs.
Executive Lead for Safer Communities and Transport, Cllr Robert Excell, said: "The work will involve securing the cliff face with cables and dowels and is necessary to ensure that the cliff is safe and we reduce the possibility of further landslides in the future.
"We appreciate that there will be some disruption to traffic in the area and we thank people in advance for their patience."
The cost of the work is in the region of £24,500.
