Meet Otilie, the Paignton Zoo giraffe named by you!
SHE'S rare, she's beautiful, and she's called Otilie.
Readers of This Is South Devon have been voting in their hundreds to find a name for the new giraffe at Paignton Zoo.

Keepers came up with a shortlist of five names, and then handed the responsibility for choosing the name to our online readers.
Voting was close throughout, but in the final few days the name Otilie emerged as a clear winner.

Now the new arrival, who was born at Paignton Zoo last month, can meet her public with a name which means a lucky heroine in Czech.
All five options were Czech, because Otilie's mother was born in the Czech Republic.
Otilie was the choice of 39 per cent of our online voters. Kalena had 32 per cent of the vote, Dasa 13 per cent and Ruza and Eliska eight per cent each.
