Mum charged over death of her son
A MOTHER has appeared in court charged with the murder of her toddler son.
Angela Vane, 40, of Champernowne in Modbury, appeared before magistrates in Torquay on Monday accused of killing two-year-old Shaun Ryleigh O'Neill.
His body was discovered at his home on the morning of Saturday, January 19.
Vane wept as the charge was read out to her and spoke only to confirm her name and address.

She was not required to enter a plea.
The charge states that on or before January 19, Vane committed murder.
Prosecutor David Barnes said the matter had to be sent to crown court and Vane was remanded in custody.
She subsequently appeared at Plymouth Crown Court on Wednesday where a judge ruled on whether she should remain in custody.
