LUSTLEIGH Drama Group is gearing up for a stage performance of Jimmy Perry's Dad's Army.

Banish the February blues, brush up your 'civvies', grab your gas mask, and come along to Lustleigh Village Hall for a good laugh at your favourite TV characters.

Captain Mainwaring, Sergeant Wilson and Corporal Jones and the rest of the incompetent Home Guard platoon will be on parade in two vintage episodes adapted for the stage by the original scriptwriters.

Mum's Army sees the recruitment of women to 'take over some of the paperwork and the making of tea and cocoa'.

In The Godiva Affair, the ladies again prove troublesome during rehearsals for the Walmington-on-Sea carnival parade, with hilarious results.

This production includes songs and music of the period.

Performances commence at 7.30pm on Thursday, February 18 to Saturday, February 20.

Tickets are available on the door or in advance from Lustleigh Dairy.
