Museum plays host to radio station's homage to Devon folk
BBC Radio Devon is presenting a Christmas service with a difference this year with music from Brixham-based folk singer Maggie Duffy and friends.
A Devon Folk Christmas includes familiar carols alongside two tunes first performed in Devon, Bird in the Briar and a Chittlehampton Wassail.
Maggie also performs Peace for the Child, a moving song which won her a top-four place in a national songwriting competition in 2012.
The programme, introduced by presenter John Govier and produced by Danny Lawrence, was recorded, not in a church but at the unusual location of Brixham Heritage Museum with a very willing 'congregation' of around 60 local carollers.

It also includes readings and poetry on the themes of holly and fishing.
Special guest the Rev Ian Blyde, the team vicar for Churston Ferrers and Kingswear, said: "The carols we sing have their origins in people's hearts and where people met.
"For various reasons that wasn't always the church.
"It could be the pub, the inn, the home or out on the streets."
Among the other invited musicians are Mike Weed, with his selection of whistles, and Paul Jackman playing border pipes and bodhrán.
A Devon Folk Christmas is broadcast on BBC Radio Devon at 6pm on Christmas Eve and again at 6am on Christmas Day.
