SINGER/SONGWRITER Barb Jungr plays a very intimate show at the Village Hall in South Brent on Saturday night.

The evening will feature songs from her new album Stockport To Memphis as well as selections from her much-admired back catalogue.

Barb's repertoire includes songs by Jacques Brel, Nina Simone, Jimmy Webb, Leonard Cohen and Bruce Springsteen among many others.

Her new album features a stunning version of The Waterboys' Fisherman's Blues and she has attracted particular acclaim for her work on the songs of Bob Dylan.

THE ever-popular Ashburton Singers are at St Mary's Church in Totnes on Saturday morning for a coffee concert.

The concert will form part of the choir's regular series held at the church by the Friends of St Mary's.

The aim is to raise funds for improvement projects in the church.

The programme will concentrate on water, and mankind's fascination with it.

Be there at 10.30am for coffee and home-made cake, followed at 11am by the hour-long music programme.

Tickets are available at the door.
