Mystery waste
SO LANDSCOVE Holiday Park is to be extended by some 90 units. The present waste water system would seem to be something of a mystery. Is it a cess pit or a filter bed system and where does the end product go after treatment? It is possible to smell whatever system it is from the coast path. What is it going to be like when the additional units are in place?
I cannot see how the Torquay planners can allow such a development in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty — how dare they? It just goes to show the scant regard that is given to these gems of natural beauty. I am both astonished and disappointed at such a decision, taken in the face of much local opposition. We have, however, seen this disregard of public opinion many times before. Surely it is not the purpose of the elected to ride roughshod over the electors? The electors should be heard and not treated with such apparent contempt. Mayor Bye and his cronies are not winning any friends for the next council elections — the public have long political memories.
