Neil and Steve link up again for a night of jazz at pub
TOTNES-BASED jazz saxophonist Neil Maya is teaming up with guitarist Steve Dow on Sunday to offer an eclectic evening of jazz and blues-based music at the homely Bay Horse Inn in Cistern Street, Totnes, as part of the pub's weekly Sunday night After Eight Club.
Neil first met Steve about three years ago when Steve stepped into the breach when a fellow guitarist had to withdraw from a gig at the last minute, giving a dazzling performance.
"We've played quite a few times since, but never again as a duo so I really looking forward to the intimate setting of the Bay Horse to revisit this lovely combination," said Neil.
"What I didn't realise at our first meeting is that Steve is also a wonderful singer so I fully intend for us to do a good number of vocal numbers on Sunday too."

Neil and Steve intend to play some of Neil's own compositions which he often performs with his quartet the Neil Maya Quartet.
They also aim to play some standards and some latin jazz and also some vocal numbers from Steve accompanied by Neil on sax.
Starting time is 8.30pm and entry is free.
