New Asda store pledges community support
ASDA Paignton has unveiled a new commitment to the local area called ‘Community Life’.
The Community Life campaign was launched nationwide across Asda stores in March this year and aims to make a positive impact on communities.
Lisa Creeve has been appointed the store’s Community Life Champion and will keep customers up to date with the new initiative via the store’s community board, which is positioned at the end of the checkouts.
Lisa will be clearly recognised too thanks to a new uniform emblazoned with her title.

Store manager, Rob Robertson, explains: “Community Life is about making the communities around our store a better place to live and work for our colleagues and customers.
"We have created the community champion role for Lisa to work not just with, but within the community.
“It’s an exciting development for us and we’re ready for the challenge as investing time, labour and funds in our community will help ensure we’re doing as much as we can to make Paignton the best it can be.”
The Borough Close store is also inviting local people to vote for a local cause to receive a donation from the Asda Foundation, the supermarket’s charity.
Called ‘Chosen by You, Given by Us’, three not-for-profit organisations will be shortlisted every two months based on nominations from customers and the wider community. Customers can vote in-store by putting tokens handed out at the tills in to one of three marked boxes next to the store’s community board and the winning cause will receive the donation to help improve the lives of local people.
Lisa said: “I’m eager to speak to as many of our new customers as possible as well as getting out into the community to see all the fantastic things the people of Paignton are already doing. If you see me in store then please come and say hello and tell me about any areas of the community that could do with a helping hand.
“So much can be achieved when a community comes together to support each other and I hope Asda Paignton can play an important role in helping individuals and organisations improve the lives of local people.”
