New fund set up in memory of Denbury man
A CHARITABLE organisation has been set up in memory of Teignbridge man who died following a car crash.
Paul Bovey, 24, from Denbury died with his friend Martyn Windsor, 25, from Torquay lost their lives when the car they were travelling in left the road in north Devon and plunged into a river in October.
Paul’s mother Jackie Brealy has now set up a group called Pauly (Parents All United Lifesaving Youngsters- Stay Safe)
“We want to raise money to help educate young adults on the danger of driving and putting them through their pass plus,” said Jackie.

“As parents we have brought our children up to live life not to die on our roads, we need to show them we will always care about them.”
She, along with his friends, are selling colourful wristbands for the cause .
“We think that by selling the bands it acts as a visual for them,” said Jackie.
“They’ll see the band when their hands on the steering wheel and it will remind them to drive safely.”
She also aims to get driving instructors to support the group.
“I am looking to ask instructors to help by donating £20 a month and in return we will advertise that they support stay safe and use them to put young adult through the pass plus scheme,” she said.
The organisation has also organised many events including a race night at the Sandygate Inn, Kingsteignton, on January 12 for the cause.
There’s also a tarts and pimps night at the Jolly Farmer, Newton Abbot, on February 16. Plans are also under way for supporters to do a charity skydive.
Eventually the group hopes to become a registered charity.
A Facebook page has been set up titled: Pauly Stay Safe.
