NEWTON Abbot are close to revealing the identity of the new shirt sponsor to replace Audi South West on the front of their shirts.

The All Whites have had the distinctive four-ring logo on the front of their shirts for more than three years, but all good things have to end sometime.

Newton Abbot are staying tight-lipped about the identity of their new sponsors until the ink is dry on the contract.

"I can't even give you a clue as that would be a total giveaway," said director of rugby Phil Burford.

"All I can say is we hope to have the new kit in place by the end of the season and that the new deal is for the next two years."

When Newton Abbot got into bed with Audi in late 2006, the club adopted a corporate image throughout the club with every player from the U7s upwards sprint the same shirts. The days of odd strips and individual sponsorship deals were over.

However, in these financially straightened times, age-group teams within the club are again on the look out for kit sponsors.

The club's junior section – U7s to U16s – is advertising for an exclusive sponsor and offering a two-year package to any would-be backer. Mini logos (£350-500) can also be accommodated on shirts.

Alternatively, two separate packages could be arranged. The person to contact with expressions of interest is Kathy Bignell on Buckfastleigh (01364) 642112 or email kathynelly@uwclub.net.
