Offender denies travel charge
A CONVICTED sex offender has appeared in court charged with failing to tell the authorities before he travelled abroad.
Nigel Hatton is standing trial accused of failing to comply with the notification requirements of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
He denies that on April 30, 2011, being a relevant offender within the terms of the act, he failed without excuse to comply with requirements by travelling to France.
Hatton, 49, of Lichfield Close, Brixham, is representing himself at trial.
