Ofsted inspectors' praise for nursery

CHILDREN and staff at a Brixham nursery are celebrating after being judged 'outstanding' by Ofsted inspectors.

The Nest Neighbourhood Nursery received the rating following a visit from inspectors last month.

It is the second time in a row the nursery has been rated outstanding in all the areas inspected.

In the latest report, inspectors said: "Staff work together very effectively to meet the welfare, learning and development needs of each child and children make excellent progress as a result."

The report also highlighted the skills of staff saying they 'sensitively build on children's interests and track their progress towards the early learning goals. Children at the Nest develop extremely secure foundations for their future learning'.

Nursery manager Tricia Bennett said: "It is a true reflection of how the enthusiastic team of staff work together for the benefit of our children."

Cllr Chris Lewis, Torbay Council's executive lead for children, schools and families, said: "This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the tremendous amount of hard work which has gone into providing top-class provision and care for children attending this nursery.

"Everyone should be very proud of the outstanding achievements."
