Opening night of Dickens' classic will be screened worldwide

A LIVE cinema broadcast of the West End gala opening night of Great Expectations will be screened across the UK and worldwide from the Vaudeville Theatre on Charles Dickens' birthday today.

To celebrate the launch of the Dickens Legacy, it can be seen at the Apollo Cinema, Paignton.

The live screening starts at 6.45pm.

The West End premiere stars Jack Ellis as Jaggers, Chris Ellison as Magwitch and Paula Wilcox as Miss Havisham.

Great Expectations, which was originally published between December 1860 and August 1861, has been adapted for the stage by Jo Clifford, one of Scotland's leading playwrights.

She's been working in theatre for more than 30 years and is the author of approximately 80 plays.
