Orchestra's flavour of Hungary comes to Brixham Theatre
THE Budapest Cafe Orchestra is back at the Brixham Theatre tomorrow night.
Audiences loved Chris Garrick and the BCO last year, and now they return by popular demand courtesy of the Brixham Arts and Theatre Society.
The BCO performs powerful and folk-based music from Eastern Europe, inspired by the music of European gypsies.
Comprising four fabulous players of violin, guitar, accordion, double bass, saz, balalaika and doumbek, they play an impassioned, but often tender mixture of Hungarian Czardas, Russian and Ukranian folk songs, and dances from Romania and Moldavia as well as their own electrifying compositions.

THE accomplished duo of Yair Avidor (lute and theorbo) and Jennifer Bennett (violin and viola da gamba) will be appearing at the United Free Church, Totnes, in a concert organised by the Totnes Early Music Society tomorrow at 7.30pm.
In Stile Antico e Moderno promises a window into music making of a different era, and the opportunity to discover less well known musical gems performed on the instruments of the period.
The programme includes sonatas for violin and toccatas for theorbo by Castello, Marini, Kapsberger and Pandolfi-Meali.
This is the latest in a series of six concerts put on by the Totnes Early Music Society.
Tickets are available on the door from 7pm.
