No Oscars joy for Torquay film-maker Roger Deakins
THERE was no Oscars joy for Torquay's Roger Deakins overnight.
The former Torquay Boys Grammar School student had received his tenth nomination for Best Cinematographer for his work on the James Bond film Skyfall.

But Mr Deakins, who has a home in Kingswear, once again had to give best to one of his peers as Claudio Miranda took the Oscar for his work on The Life of Pi.
