Paignton Curledge Street school celebrates new £2.8m building
A NEW era has dawned at a Paignton primary school after it opened its £2.8million redevelopment.
Students are now enjoying the new state-of-the-art facilities at Curledge Street Academy after a celebration attended by youngsters, staff and parents.

The new building houses classrooms for children in Years 1 to 3, a library, space for one-to-one student support, office space and a staff room
Headteacher Jessica Humphrey said: "The opening marks the culmination of a lot of hard work to give the children at Curledge Street a building and facilities which match our school motto: A Flying Start to Life Long Learning."

Visitors were given a tour of the new building before joining all the children on the playground to mark the official opening.
Youngsters sang a specially written song, A World of Our Own, written for the occasion.
Three large outdoor murals produced by local artist Scott Walker, which include artwork by each child, were unveiled at the celebration.
Torbay Council's civic chairman, Cllr Roger Stringer, attended the event and cut the official ribbon and unveiled a plaque to mark the opening of the building.
Cllr Stringer said: "I'm delighted to open this new building which will provide superb facilities not just for the children now, but for children in the years to come."
The opening also officially marked the conversion of Curledge Street Primary School to Curledge Street Academy.
The school has become part of Prospects Academies Trust, a national provider of academies and school support from the beginning of September.
Peter Evans, the trust's chairman, also attended the opening and said how proud he was to join the children at the opening of their new building and to mark the start of a new era at Cureldge Street.
He said: "We are delighted to welcome the academy into the Prospects Academies Trust family and look forward to a bright future."
