Stagecoach South West today confirmed the temporary

closure of Paignton Bus Station from February 18 to May 24.

The bus operator has been working closely with Torbay

Council's Public Transport & Highways Team and other bus operators to keep disruption to a minimum by agreeing facilities nearby for both vehicles and bus

users.

For the duration of the closure the following arrangements will be in place:

Director, said: "I'd like to thank both Torbay Council and the other bus operators for their support in helping agree these temporary arrangements.

"I hope, as a result, passengers will experience the minimum of disruption and I look forward to welcoming them to a newly renovated bus station in time for the

start of the summer season."

Cllr Robert Excell, Torbay Council's Executive Lead for Safer Communities and Transport, said: "We welcome Stagecoach's scheme at the bus station.

"We recognise that its temporary closure will affect the many people who use the Bay's comprehensive bus network. We have liaised with bus operators to make sure we can provide temporary facilities that will keep inconvenience to a minimum."
