Paignton house severely damaged in blaze
A HOUSE in Paignton was severely damaged by fire last night.
The alarm was raised at 7.45pm to the house in Hayes Gardens.
-

The Fire Service received several calls from people reporting the roof of the house on fire, and two fire engines from Paignton were sent to the scene.
A third fire appliance from Torquay was sent due to the number of calls received.
The roof of the two-storey terraced house was well alight when the crews arrived.
A fourth fire appliance was sent from Torquay as well as an incident support unit and a supporting appliance from Totnes.
The British Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Services were also called.
Station Commander Andy Rowse said the first floor and the loft conversion of the house was on fire and investigations were in progress.
By 10pm firefighters had the blaze under control.
Mr Rowse said the loft conversion and roof had been severely damaged by fire, the first floor severely damaged by fire and water and the ground floor severely damaged by water.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated by the Fire Service.

“Far too much anger on here. No idea why if people hate this site so much then why not just shut up and not comment. OR just go outside and enjoy the smell in brixham?
Simple really.”

“oops spoke too soon! Here's the irritating little parasite back once more. Hasn't got anything interesting in his own sad lonely life so has to live through his PC! Sending sympathy to you! Oh well must go as I've come some serious living to do! Bye loser! Back to the subject- I must apologise for the sub-normals who use this site to show us their lack of social skills. For the rest of us more humane folk - we are very sorry for the fire thats caused you so much upset and hope you are soon able to return to your home”

“I used to comment on here a lot but got fed up with the idiots impersonating me and being so abusive. Its refreshing to see a couple of sensible comments urging the newpaper to monitor the posters on here . It shouldn't be up to the rest of us to flag the objectionable comments. Regarding the article, thankfully the first post has now been removed. A family losing their home is not a matter for an idiot to show his ignorance. Shame on you. Lets hope this family soon get back on their feet and I'm just pleased there is no loss of life or serious injury. A fire can happen anywhere with an electrical fault etc so just be thankful it's not you!”

“I missed the original posting by the gutless coward but I can believe it was rude and hurting .
milesnagop I agree with you 100%.
Jerryjones believes I am pete_m, that is not true but his sentiments reflect mine.
thisissouthdevon.co.uk is run and controlled by the ********** Group based outside of Devon but they should have more control over the contents and users of this site, people do not read it anymore because of a few spineless people who contribute to the site. Frankenstien formerly known as Isolde and Jerryjones spoil this site for others. Get a grip Herald Express.”

“You're a real jerk, aren't you Peter Sims. A house burns down, a family loses its home, several other families run the risk of losing theirs and the best you can do is a snide and loathsome remark about people who rent accommodation. Ask yourself this, Mr Sims; would you have the courage to make that same statement to the faces of the family who now have no-where to live or is all this just because you have the Internet to skulk behind. Like a gutless coward?
It would help, of course, if thisissouthdevon.co.uk took a little responsibility for some of the comments that they allow publication of on their website.”
