Painting stolen from flats

A DISTINCTIVE painting worth £900 has been stolen from a block of flats in Totnes.

Police have put out an appeal to trace the artwork (pictured) which was taken from a property in North Street.

They want anyone who has been offered the painting or knows its whereabouts to get in touch.

It is believed the owner of the artwork left it by mistake outside her flat door in the communal landing area of the block.

When she returned it was gone.

The theft occurred sometime between 10.30am and 4pm on Sunday, September 23.

The work is a multi-coloured painting on canvas in a light wooden frame and measures 1.5m x 1.2m. It is mixed media including ink, acrylic, oil and oil pastel.

The painting is signed in the bottom right hand corner -'Zanna M 2012'.

The owner had just brought it back home after it had been on public display in an exhibition.
