Peppa Pig’s flying visit to Newton Abbot attracts hundreds
HUNDREDS of extra visitors made their way to the family fun day at the Tesco superstore in Newton Abbot on Saturday.
Customers were invited Newton Road store, opposite the racecourse, to meet children's TV favourite Peppa Pig throughout the day and to take advantage of the free face painting for younger shoppers.
"We only expected about fifty people, but there's been hundreds – we've needed extra crowd control!" said Compliance Manager Nikki Badger, "It's been extremely popular and great to see the smiles on all the little one's faces. We really wanted to do something for the community and involve families. It's been a great success."

Store manager Stuart Furlonger said: "This is a great way to celebrate the New Year with our customers and I hope everyone had a fantastic day."
The supermarket is also currently running a 'Golden Ticket' competition where customers are invited to pick up an entry form for a chance to win a share of £300 in Tesco gift cards.
Each week three entries will be randomly picked and the winners selected. The first to be selected will receive £200 in Tesco gift cards with the second and third each receiving £50.
